Staff Supervision Training

The Archetypes Model of Supervision Training

This course is based on a model developed by Merav Devere. It offers a unique synthesis of models drawn from: Archetypal Psychology, the functions model of supervision, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused approach and coaching principles.

Course aims:


  • To introduce a generic archetypes model of supervision suitable for those working in the helping/caring professions.

  • To develop practical supervision skills appropriate to the above model.

  • To relate learning to roles and work environment.

  • To facilitate self-awareness and personal and professional growth.

  • To examine ethical issues and responsibilities for supervision.


By the end of the course you can expect to:


  • Articulate their understanding of the supervision model and its application to their work.

  • Conduct a supervision session demonstrating the application of supervision skills and creating a supervisory relationship.

  • Recognise the relevance of the supervision model to their working life.

  • Model and facilitate the application of personal understandings and skills.

  • Evaluate the ethical and professional issues involved in the supervisory relationship and role.
